It’s amazing that this paper continues to hide the truth. To call Judge’s Stracener’s campaign “dirty” is such a fabrication and just another disgusting attempt by the Mountain Democrat to defraud its readers by concealing the truth. Back in March, Hoffman’s campaign and his closest supporters (Chuck Holland and John Bailey, who were among the close-knit circle of Hoffman supporters at Hoffman’s election night party – see today’s article “Stracener, Hoffman in Runoff”) created a smear website filled with lies and pathetic attempts to assassinate Judge Stracener’s character. The website’s name is even set up to entice viewers who think they are going to the Judge’s actual campaign website. Then, to make it even worse, the corrupt elected officials of this county trick the voters into believing that Hoffman’s misdeeds really aren’t fraudulent, unethical, or harmful to the public. As if that weren’t enough, the Mountain Democrat gives Hoffman a free pass by not presenting the facts of his wrongdoing and furthers the scam by giving the smear website a free plug in its newspaper and letting everyone think the garbage on that website is true. Stracener’s mailer merely informed the public of the details behind the ongoing FBI investigation and civil lawsuit that has been filed against a candidate for a highly trusted position in county government. The results of the FBI investigation and the lawsuit will have very REAL, negative implications on this county’s government if Hoffman is elected. It’s pretty clear that Hoffman’s campaign is the one that started the mud-slinging back in March and is behind a very underhanded effort to pull the wool over the voters’ eyes. The problem is that this newspaper is intent to further this fraud – otherwise, it would be pointing out Hoffman’s dirty tactics and letting the reader decide whose campaign is truly “shockingly dirty.”
